Lydd in Kent Town Guide

Family History

My family were once the Doctors in Lydd. Some of the older population may remember the Doctor Procters. Anyway I am trying to find a photograph of the old family home The Paddocks before it was re-developed. Also any information anyone may have of their time in Lydd.

Many Thanks

David Procter

Hi David, I was born in Lydd in 1936, I remember the two Doctors well, I forget which one was our doctor though, Edgar sticks in my mind. I am afraid I don’t have any photos of ‘old’ Lydd & every time I visit there seems to be fewer & fewer shops open. I am coming over to England next week for 3 weeks, from BC Canada, visiting my sister in Christchurch & my cousins in Lydd area, also my Aunt Pam (Winkfield) who is now in a home in New Romney, she is 94 years. I remember being in Lydd when the war was on, we lived with my Grandparents in Station Rd. I went to school there. We moved to Brenzett when I was about 11 years.
I used to go to Lydd Club Day every year. Helene
