The Bale House is a modern visitor centre situated within Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve, notable for being Hastings’ first public straw bale building. Opened in 2021, this centre serves as a hub for visitors to learn about the park’s unique geology, habitats, resident species, and heritage. It is an ideal venue for school visits, activities, and family events, offering comprehensive information about the nature reserve.

Managed by Groundwork South, The Bale House is staffed from Wednesday to Sunday and opens daily from 10am to 4pm. The on-site café provides refreshments and operates from 9am to 4pm on weekdays and extends to 5 pm over the weekend. Visitors can also enjoy outdoor picnic tables, which offer panoramic views of the park’s surroundings.
