Come along and join in with some of our best summer activities at RSPB Dungeness.

Free entry for all visitors on this day but donations towards our conservation work is always very welcome. There is no need to book as all the activities will be free to participate in too.

This is an event that is open to everyone. We will be putting on lots of activities for all to enjoy and they will be running at various times throughout the day:

Pond Dipping drop in session – Come along and find some amazing wildlife that lives beneath the surface! Will you be lucky enough to find dragonflies, nymphs, pond skaters, frogs or even one of our rarer species such as the great crested newt or medicinal leeches.

Wildflower ID Workshop – with a knowledgeable guide to teach you how to spot and identify wildflowers of all different varieties, explain their benefits to pollinators and the ecosystem and how to garden for wildlife effectively at home. (Times TBC)

Bumblebee Activities – led by volunteers and trainees from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, who do many Bee survey around the reserve during the springs month. They will run an activity that showcases the amazing range of Bee species found here on the reserve.

Photography Workshop Taster Session – We will be hosting our first Photography Workshop Taster Session with our resident photographer and staff member Corinne Pardey. She will be on hand to offer photography tips to enhance your shots and get you out of auto and in full control of your camera. We will practice taking photos of anything we see and get you understanding the basics of photography. (Times TBC)

Binocular and Telescope Demonstrations – get hands-on advice from our friendly, impartial team of experts and try from a range of high quality optical equipment. We can help you to find the perfect products that suit your needs and your budget. Running between 10-4pm.

Other activities will included mini beast hunting, nature based arts and crafts, raffle, plant sale and more.

All Activities will be up and running between 10am – 4pm with the main gate to the reserve closing at 5pm.
