Brignall and Standen

I am researching my family tree and am keen to find out more about Mumfords, the farmhouse where my grandmother was brought up – she was Naomi Aneeta (unusual spelling!) Standen. My great grandparents were Standens and Brignalls. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I notice on the map that there is Mumford Cottage and Mumford Stables – would these have been part of Mumfords?

    Hi Rosie,
My name is Paul Bech. My grandmother was a Standen. Also in the last few weeks I have been tracing distant Brignall cousins. I would be very interested in corresponding with you. You can email me directly at: [reveal email]
You can also see all my tree on wikitree.com which is a free site.

Hi Rosie. I do not suppose any of your Standen’s emigrated to Canada. Quite a few of my lesser relations from Wittersham did (The Body’s. I suppose Standen is a name which appears everywhere. It is just that there is some information of them in Canada. William emigrated from England 1912 and his son Cyril opened up a business with his fathers help.

Hi again Rosie. I meant to say that my family probably knew yours, as some of my cousins were born in the Hall Swan Street Wittersham, as William Body and his wife Sarah was in residence, as a 700 acre farmer. We also had Gibbets Farm Tenterden and College Farm Wittersham, which also included the well known cricket ground.Next to St.John the Baptist Church where Colonel John Body is remembered
