LOCATION:Sugarpie Honeybuns, 235 London Road, St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, TN376LU, United Kingdom
DESCRIPTION:The world in which your story is set is the mortar that holds together the bricks of your fiction. \n\nFor the unfamiliar setting of a historical novel, or an imagined land, or another planet, credible worldbuilding underpins the plausibility of the whole thing. In the historical, fantasy and SF genres especially, it is where readers want to escape to.\n\nBut even in a contemporary or true-life story, not every reader will be familiar with the setting of every scene.\n\nThis workshop will explore how we enrich our writing by conjuring authentic worlds. Plot spoiler – it’s not magic!\n\nGlyn Carter is a Hastings-based writer currently working on the fifth of his The Crown and The Arrow series of 11th Century historical novels. He has also written fantasy and science fiction. His last stageplay won The Stables Theatre’s international New Writing Contest in 2005, and was produced earlier this year. He has also written award-winning screenplays.
