Greenhithe for Bluewater Railway Station, commonly referred to as Greenhithe railway station, is a key transport hub located in the village of Greenhithe, Kent. This station is strategically important for both local commuters and shoppers heading to the nearby Bluewater Shopping Centre. It lies approximately 32 kilometres from London Charing Cross and is managed by Southeastern.
The station, which originally opened on 30 July 1849, underwent significant renovations in 2008 to enhance accessibility and modernise its facilities. These improvements included the introduction of a new bridge with stairs and lift access, replacing the old subway, and a redesigned station entrance and booking hall that aligns directly with the adjacent bus stop.
Greenhithe is served by both Southeastern and Thameslink services. The typical off-peak train schedule includes two trains per hour (tph) to London Charing Cross via Sidcup, two tph to London Victoria via Bexleyheath, two tph to Luton via Woolwich Arsenal and Greenwich, and four tph to Gravesend. Additional services to and from London Cannon Street are available during peak hours.
Adjacent to the station is a bus station from which Fastrack and other local bus services operate, providing connections to Dartford, Temple Hill, Bluewater, Ebbsfleet International, and Gravesend, enhancing its role as a vital link in north Kent’s public transport network.
