The Famous Ship Inn

The Famous Ship Inn, established in 1798, is a historic pub and restaurant located in Sandgate. Recently reopened under new management in October 2023, this venue has quickly become a central part of the local community. The pub offers a range of dining options, featuring locally sourced fish and chips in the afternoon and dry-aged steaks and seafood specials in the evening. The restaurant area has been newly refurbished, providing a scenic setting for Sunday Roasts with views of the sea. It transforms from a bright and airy space during the day to a candle-lit atmosphere at night. Additionally, the cosy bar area, complete with log fires, serves a selection of local ales, specialty wines, and more.
