The Castle Inn is a historic pub located in Pevensey Bay, East Sussex. Established in the 16th century, this freehouse has been carefully renovated to maintain its traditional charm, featuring low ceilings and oak beams. It is managed by Daina and Paul Martin, who took ownership in 2017. The pub offers a selection of beers, wines, spirits, and soft drinks, complemented by a menu of homemade food that incorporates local produce. The Castle Inn also provides weekend entertainment and has been recognised with a 5-star Cask Marque accreditation for its real ales.
The venue includes a large suntrap garden that is popular in sunny weather, making it suitable for families, with ample space for children to play. The pub is dog-friendly and welcomes well-behaved children. Facilities include ample car parking and free Wi-Fi, and the venue is capable of hosting private functions. Please note that the Grade II listed status of the building, with its many steps, unfortunately precludes wheelchair access, although staff are available to assist where possible.
