I am searching for the birth of Stephen Jones (my 4G Gf) who married Mary Dengate in Crowhurst in 1766. From other researchers and checking the Crowhurst parish registry I know he wasn’t born there and I haven’t found any potential births in the UK that fit with a circa 1741 birth. Have any other Jones researchers heard any stories of how Stephen may have arrived in Crowhurst – I have looked at Military records without success.
