My grandfather, George Pettitt, had a forge shop in Northiam. He reportedly made the chains that wrap around the oak tree that Queen Elizabeth sat under when she visited on her way to Rye. My father, Michael Pettitt, passed away recently and I would like to plant an oak tree in my garden in his honour.
