My grandfather, George Pettitt, had a forge shop in Northiam. He reportedly made the chains that wrap around the oak tree that Queen Elizabeth sat under when she visited on her way to Rye. My father, Michael Pettitt, passed away recently and I would like to plant an oak tree in my garden in his honour. I was hoping to plant the same type of oak tree as the one Queen Elizabeth sat under. If you know what type of oak tree it is please email me. Thanks!
