Hello,
I am a grandson of Harry Jones, who lived up the lane past the pub on the right of the village green.
Sadly he passed away in ’81 when my interest in my ancestors was not as acute as currently.
Grandad Harry and my Uncle Roger both worked on the farm behind the green.
My father has very little memory of his grandparents or other relatives of that era.
To this end I was wondering if anyone in the village would have any local interest facility that I could delve into.
Thanks, regards, Steve Underwood

Hi Steve, just seen this!! The Farrants farm behind the Six Bells. You might find the best way to find out more is to contact the Conservation Society: [reveal email] .
There is also a useful facebook page – [reveal tel] /group/” rel=”nofollow ugc”>The Northiamers Past and Present where people share memories etc
Hope this helps

Hi Steve,
Your grandad Harry was my dad’s older brother (or half brother maybe) as I think they may have had different mother’s. Not 109% on that point!! My dad was Oliver Frank Jones. There were a few other brothers whose names I can mostly remember, and I believe three sisters, Daisy, Meg and Ethel. You have quite a few cousins locally but I won’t name them here.
Sorry I have only just seen your post quite by chance.
I’d be happy to discuss what I know of the Jones family tree with you if you like.
I still live in Northiam and there are a few other relatives dotted about who you may or may not know.
Feel free to msg me on [reveal tel] , or email [reveal email]
