Robertsbridge Railway Station, located in the village of Robertsbridge, East Sussex, serves as a key stop on the Hastings line. Managed by Southeastern, the station is situated 79.8 km from London Charing Cross. It features two platforms and operates with a typical off-peak hourly service to both London Charing Cross and Hastings. Additional peak services connect to London Cannon Street and Ore.
The station has a rich history, having opened on 1 September 1851 as part of the South Eastern Railway’s extension towards Hastings. It became a junction in 1900 with the opening of the Rother Valley Light Railway to Tenterden, although regular passenger services on this line were discontinued in 1954. The station still retains its historical bay platform, now used for engineering trains.
Robertsbridge Railway Station is also associated with the Rother Valley Railway preservation society, which has reconstructed part of the old line for heritage services, enhancing the station’s historical significance in the region.
