Noakes family of Udimore

Have rewritten my account of John Noakes and family, descended from Thomas and Sarah Noakes whose sons James and Thomas sailed to New South Wales. John and William Noakes were the brothers who stayed in Udimore. Have discovered much more about the Noakes family including John’s sons John and Spencer and daughter Sarah Ann who emigrated to Syracuse, New York. Have also tracked back into the past with a theory of Richard Noakes’s origins (Richard was the father of Thomas Noakes who married Sarah Darby. The book is called Over the Seas and Far Away-the story of Richard Noakes of Udimore and His Descendants. It tells the story of the people who lived in Udimore alongside the Noakes family in the 1800s; how some went smuggling to earn a crust and how others left their homeland to sail the oceans to new lands of America, Canada and Australia.
