Bus Routes of the Past

Researching two photographs I am unable to find what the route or service numbers are.
1) Southdown original livery ie pre 1969 number blind 1*2 so is this 152? as middle is obliterated.
2) 1915 single deck bus with board on front Beckley-Northiam-Bride-Westfield- Hastings and passing near to a pub at a junction, registration AP7319, Bean? Any help with either most appreciated.

Following on from my first, I have solved the first, it was the 152.
On the second, the year must be after 1914 as tramway was all set in place, its actually on the A21 passing south through Baldslow. A bighton registeed bus hence AP, but no route number or operator, possibly not a Bean, Dennis, a Ford even?

AP7319 owned by Dengate of Beckley. The chassis is of ‘Napier’ manufacture of B72 specification. and was built in 1918. It carried a 26 seat bus body, after use, at date unknown, it was scrapped at their premises at Beckley. The ‘AP’ registration was, with ‘PN’ and ‘PM’ later, as i understand it, a general East Sussex issue, as ‘CD’ and later ‘UF’ was specifically for Brighton, as ‘DY’ was for Hastings. Hope this is of interest.

Terrific, many thanks for all that detail Roy, I can fill in the missing bits to my catalogue now. The picture is of interest for transport enthusiasts as well as a good topographical postcard view. A glass plate negative. A search on this plate should come up with my lists.
