Can anyone please tell me if there is (or was) a house, area or farm etc. in the Westfield area called ‘Sprays Bridge’ or similar? Apparently I lived there as a small child. Many thanks, Andy.

I have an old postcard titled Sprays Bridge Farm, which shows a small house with a signpost in front pointing to Seddlescombe. Above the house door can be seen some lettering that reads something like this:
S
I G A:E 50
Whatever that might mean.
I’d be happy to email a scan to anyone with family connections to this Farm.

My name is Robert Elsam. My family lived at Sprays Bridge Farmhouse, right on the triangle that takes you to Sedlescombe, or Brede, or through to the Hastings A21 road. We purchased is in about 1963 and sold it in about 1970. The property then included about 8 acres the other side of the stream. Please send me your scan of what i can only imagine is the inscription “AES”, from Adrian Spray who built the present house, and the date 1690. The foundations are of a Roman coaching waystation as it is situated on Watling Street South.
I will tell you more if you answer nicely!!!!!!!
Robert
Hi,
If you are still around after all this time I would like to see a copy of the postcard please.
Thanks Dave
