Rogers of Randall’s Farm

I am looking for information regarding the possible descendants of the ROGERS family of Westfield, namely William & Louisa Jane (nee FOOT) and their children Robert Foot, James, Martha Louise, Joseph Corbin and Stafford. The family arrived from Shroton, Dorset, sometime between 1881-1891 and then farmed at Hale Farm and at Randall’s Farm, Westfield.

Robert continued to live at Randall’s Farm until his death in 1960. He is not thought to have married.

Stafford later lived at “Little Holm”. He married Florence WORRALL in 1923 and died 1972, Hastings. It is not thought they had children.

Of the parents, William ROGERS died 1920 and Louisa 1929. They are buried in the churchyard at Westfield together with the former’s sister, Martha, who died 1911.

Many thanks,

John Lane

I am interested in contacting possible ancestors of the ROGERS family of Westfield.

William & Louisa Jane Rogers moved to Sussex from Shroton in Dorset some time after 1881. They farmed at Hale farm and Randall’s Farm, Westfield. Their children included Robert Foot, James, Martha Louise, Joseph Corbin and Stafford. Robert continued to farm at Randall’s Farm until his death in 1960. It is not thought he married / had children. Stafford lived at Little Holm, Westfield. He married Florence WORRALL in 1923 and died Hastings in 1972.

The parents William & Louisa died 1920 and 1929 respectively and are buried in Westfield churchyard, as is Martha, William’s sister, who died 1911.
