Meet at the Lookout, by the Strand Gate at the bottom of the High Street, Winchelsea TN36 4EA Tickets £15.00 per person. This fascinating tour visits some of the town’s medieval vaulted wine cellars. Our knowledgeable guide will tell the incredible story of the town built by a King. Winchelsea was one of the most important ports in England. Find out why its success was short lived and how it fell into poverty. Learn about the smugglers who lived there. Hear of its renaissance as writers and artists moved to the town in the 19th century. Please bring a torch and wear sensible footwear. Tours are not suitably for those with mobility issues, small children, or animals. Saturday 12th September at 2.30pm AND: Thursday 10th at 10.30am Thursday 17th at 10.30am Saturday 19th at 2.30pm Tuesday 22nd at 2.30pm Thursday 24th at 10.30am These tours are not suitable for anyone with mobility issues nor for very small children or babies. Dogs are not allowed. Please bring a torch and wear sensible shoes as access to some cellars is difficult. Maximum 15 people per tour – Early booking is essential to avoid disappointment.
