Appledore Railway Station, located east of Appledore in Kent, is a notable Grade II listed building on the Marshlink line. Managed by Southern, the station was originally opened in 1851 by the South Eastern Railway and designed by William Tress in an Italianate architectural style. It features two platforms and provides services to destinations including Eastbourne and Ashford International. The station became a junction in 1881 with a branch line to Lydd and New Romney, which, although now closed to passengers, still supports goods traffic to Dungeness Nuclear Power Station. Despite recommendations for its closure in the Beeching Report, Appledore has remained operational. The station building has retained much of its original character and continues to serve the local community and travellers.
