Benenden in Kent Village Guide

Family History Barnes

Hi,

I am currently tracing my maternal family tree and have discovered several ancestors who came from Benenden. The name I am researching is Barnes (my mother’s maiden name) and I wondered if there was anyone still living in the village who might be related or could provide me with more information about my ancestors. My 2x gt grandfather was called Thomas Barnes and was born in 1851 in Benenden and his father was Charles Barnes born in 1828 in Benenden(he was a steam engine proprietor and Baptist minister). I think his father might be Henry Barnes born in 1801 in Benenden. I would love to hear from anyone who might be able to tell me anything more about this family. Many thanks for taking the time to read this message.

Hi Diane, I’m currently consulting Benenden parish records on microfilm at the local Family History Centre. I do recall seeing references to Barnes and wouldn’t mind taking notes for you as I do my research. Kind regards, Dave

    Hi Dianne
I am seeking to identify Sarah BARNS who on 13 Jun 1771 in Benenden married Stephen BoOOTH b c1743 CRANBROOK, KENT.
I wonder whether she is related to your mother’s line?

What’s new?
