Chiddingstone Causeway is a village within the parish of Chiddingstone, located in the Sevenoaks District of Kent. The parish lies along the River Eden, nestled between Tonbridge and Edenbridge. The nearby Penshurst railway station serves the area, providing connections between Tonbridge and Redhill.
The village is part of a parish renowned for its Tudor heritage, with Chiddingstone itself described by the National Trust as the best example of a Tudor one-street village remaining in the country. The parish includes other settlements such as Bough Beech and Chiddingstone Hoath.
The surrounding area features several nature reserves managed by the Kent Wildlife Trust, including Sevenoaks Reserve and Chiddingstone Reserve, offering opportunities for wildlife observation and outdoor activities.
Chiddingstone has also served as a film location for various productions, including the 1985 Merchant Ivory film A Room with a View, Michael Winner’s The Wicked Lady, and Terry Jones’s Wind in the Willows – Mr Toad’s Wild Ride.
