Chilham Railway Station, located in Kent, is a historical railway station that has been serving passengers since its opening by the South Eastern Railway on 6 February 1846. This station is strategically positioned on the Ashford to Ramsgate line, nestled between Ashford International and Canterbury West stations. Managed by Southeastern, Chilham Railway Station operates with two platforms and provides a range of services primarily using Class 375 electric multiple units.
The typical off-peak service includes one train per hour (tph) to London Charing Cross via Tonbridge and one tph to Ramsgate. During peak hours, additional services extend to include routes to and from London Cannon Street and London St Pancras International. The station has a rich history of railway developments and incidents, including a notable accident in 1848 when a bridge collapse caused a train derailment, fortunately without injuries. Goods services at the station were discontinued on 15 August 1966. Today, Chilham continues to be a vital link for commuters and travellers in the region.
