Folkestone West Railway Station, located on the South Eastern Main Line, serves the western area of Folkestone, Kent. This station, managed by Southeastern, features two platforms and offers a range of services primarily operated by Southeastern using Class 375 and 395 EMUs. The typical off-peak service includes trains to London St Pancras International, London Charing Cross via Tonbridge, and Dover Priory, with additional services during peak hours and a daily train to London Victoria.
Originally opened on 1 November 1863 as “Shorncliffe Camp,” the station has undergone several name changes and renovations, the most recent being in 2008 to accommodate parking and coach loading bays. The ticket office is staffed part-time, supplemented by a PERTIS machine for ticket purchases at other times. The substantial building on the ‘down’ platform is used as offices by Network Rail.
