The Rype in Lydd

Originally given to the town by Alfred the Great as a reward for beating off an invasion of Danes in the 9th century, The Rype is now a registered village green owned by Lydd Town Council located in the centre of the town. This park was once part of a large expanse of land which now forms part of the Lydd Ranges.
