Lance Corporal Leonard Frank Webber QVR

This young man aged 19 was killed serving with Hopkinson Mission in Northern France on 27th May 1940 with a young officer aged 25 in a Guy Armoured car near the town of Esquelbecq. their identity tags were removed by the SS. Frank was identified by papers in his pocket but the officer was not identified.They were buried together; The papers were sent to Lille by the French.Were the papers returned to the UK to the family or to the Queen Victoria Rifles. We are relatives of the officer and trying to identify the grave next to Frank’s in Esquelbecq Cemetary. P & E McCausland
