Sturry Railway Station, located in Kent, England, serves the local areas of Sturry and Fordwich. Managed by Southeastern, the station is part of the Ashford to Ramsgate line and is situated approximately 3.6 km northeast of Canterbury West. The station features two staggered platforms, which are accessed via a level crossing that intersects the A28 road. Platform 1 caters to services heading towards Canterbury West, Ashford International, and London, while Platform 2 handles trains towards Ramsgate and Margate. This platform also houses a part-time staffed booking office and ticket machines.
The station’s unique layout, with no direct pedestrian link between the two platforms, has been noted as problematic. Sturry Railway Station was originally opened on 1 June 1847 by the South Eastern Railway. The line through the station was electrified in 1962, enhancing the service offerings. Today, the typical off-peak service includes one train per hour (tph) to London Charing Cross via Tonbridge and one tph to Ramsgate, with additional services during peak hours.
