Glynde Railway Station, located in East Sussex, serves the village of Glynde and operates on the East Coastway Line. Managed by Southern, the station features two platforms and provides services primarily using Class 377 Electric Multiple Units (EMUs). The typical off-peak schedule includes one train per hour (tph) to Brighton via Lewes and one tph to Eastbourne, with additional services during peak hours and some direct connections to London Victoria.
Originally opened on 27 June 1846 by the Brighton, Lewes and Hastings Railway, Glynde Railway Station has a history marked by early expansions and incidents, including a notable accident in 1887 involving a passenger train and a stray wagon.
Today, the station is unstaffed but equipped with a self-service ticket machine, replacing the older PERTIS machine installed in 2008. The station building now houses the Airworks paragliding school. Although Glynde is near Glyndebourne Opera House, better transport connections to the opera are available from nearby Lewes.
