Hello,
My family – named Gibbs – were born in Heathfield around the turn of the century and some of them worked at the Heathfield Hotel, which I believe in now demolished. My grandmother and her siblings – named Elsie May, Ava, twins Charles and William, were the children of Charles Gibbs and they lived in a little cottage quite near the village school, where they all attended. I believe my great-grandfather was a builder.
