Winders Oast Peasmarsh

Good evening,

In 1975 I’ve been on holiday in Peasmarsh and stayed at Winders Oast with Mrs. H. Starns and her husband.

In June this year I’v planned to visit Kent again near to Peasmarsh and I’d like to know if Winders Oast is still a place to stay and if Mrs. Starns is still alive and if she is where I could find her to bring her some flowers to thank her for the lovely memories I have from that time.

Hopefully somebody can give me some information.

Thank you very much already if you do.

Lara

Sorry to possibly be a provider of sad news, but I’m afraid that Hildegarde and Bill Starns are both dead.
Bill was a childhood friend of my father’s, and I can still remember their wonderful hospitality when we visited them at Holman’s Farm near Wittersham in the 1950s and 1960s. I can also remember helping them move to Winders Oast from the farm. I remember thinking it was a delightful place to retire to.
