Cuxton Railway Station serves the village of Cuxton within the Medway area of Kent. This station is part of the Medway Valley Line, positioned between Strood and Halling stations. It is managed by Southeastern and features two platforms. The station was originally opened on 18 June 1856 and has a history of serving local passengers with a steady flow of traffic.
All train services at Cuxton are operated by Southeastern, predominantly using Class 375 electric multiple units. The typical off-peak schedule includes two trains per hour (tph) to Strood and two tph to Paddock Wood via Maidstone West, with some services extending to Tonbridge during specific times. On Sundays, the frequency reduces to an hourly service in each direction.
The station’s facilities have seen various changes over the years, including the replacement of the traditional wooden level crossing gates with manually operated barriers. Although the original ticket office has been closed since 1989 and remains disused, a Permit to Travel ticket machine is available for passengers.
