Hamstreet Victory Hall is a community-focused venue centrally located in the village, adjacent to a well-utilised village green and a play area for children. Established in 1961 and named in commemoration of the end of World War II, the hall was inaugurated by actress Dinah Sheridan, who affectionately referred to herself as the hall’s ‘godmother’. Managed by an elected committee, the hall supports various local organisations through regular bookings.
The facility includes a newly updated kitchen installed in 2011, a bar area with matching units, and a spacious, well-equipped disabled access toilet and baby changing area. To cover operational costs such as utilities and maintenance, the hall hosts regular fundraising activities including monthly Boot Fairs from April to September, Jumble Sales, and Coffee Mornings. Additionally, ongoing fundraising efforts are supported by a bric-a-brac sales table and a bookshelf with items for sale located in the seating area off the kitchen. These initiatives help ensure the hall remains a vital part of the local community infrastructure.
