Pevensey Courthouse Museum & Gaol offers a unique glimpse into the judicial history of England through its preserved courthouse and gaol. The building, which has served the community since Tudor times, retains its original features including a 17th-century timber ceiling and a courtroom setup that has remained unchanged since its last use in 1886. Visitors can explore the old Court Room, complete with the dock, and the ground floor below, which houses the prison cells, exercise yard, and a Tudor window. This site, which also functioned as the town hall, provides a rich educational experience with extensive information on local history. The museum is accessible and welcomes well-behaved dogs. Information sheets are available in several languages to cater to a diverse range of visitors.
